Operator Training
Work Safely, Stay Compliant
IPAF accredited | PAL Card certification | Nationwide or onsite training | 30+ years’ experience
APS provides nationally recognised IPAF operator training for scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers, and other mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). Our courses are designed to equip operators with the skills and confidence to use access platforms safely, while ensuring your business meets legal obligations.
As the UK’s largest independent supplier of powered access platforms, APS has over 30 years of expertise in helping businesses work at height safely and productively.
Why Operator Training Is Essential
Operator training is not optional – it’s a legal requirement for anyone using powered access equipment.
- Work at Height Regulations 2005 – all workers at height must be “competent.”
- Council Directive 2009/104/EC – anyone using work equipment must receive adequate training, including on associated risks.
If your team operates scissor lifts, cherry pickers, or booms, they must be trained and certified before use. APS training ensures you comply with these regulations and reduces the risk of accidents on site.
Successful candidates receive an IPAF PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), recognised worldwide and valid for five years.
What to Expect on the Course
