Why Access Platform Training Matters

Operating powered access equipment without proper training isn’t just dangerous – it’s against the law.

This means every operator must be properly trained and certified before using access platforms such as scissor lifts, boom lifts or spider platforms.

You have two core legal responsibilities:
  • Work at Height Regulations 2005 – Operators must be deemed competent to work at height.
  • Council Directive 2009/104/EC Article 9 – Requires adequate training for all users of work equipment, including instruction on risks and safety procedures.
